My Story

Support me to help Pet Blood Bank save lives with their blood bank service for dogs.

Earlier this year my lovely Springer Spaniel, Bella, was taken ill very suddenly and had to be rushed to hospital for a life saving blood transfusion to treat the rapid onset of Immune Mediated Haemalytic Anaemia which caused her body to attack it's own red blood cells. It was a scary time and although she still has a long recovery ahead, she is still with me today because of the amazing work the Pet Blood Bank do.

As my way of saying thank you, I am taking part in Pet Blood Bank's Around the Coast in 30 Days where together, we will be walking, running, cycling, and swimming 11,232 miles around the UK mainland coastline. Every year, Pet Blood Bank travels thousands of miles to run donation sessions across the country. This blood is then returned to the blood bank where is it processed before once again continuing its journey, travelling many more miles to the vet practices where it is needed for critically ill pets.

This challenge represents the vast distance the charity covers each year to provide its lifesaving service.

By sponsoring me, you will help to save the lives of pets across the country by supporting the blood bank service. The funds raised will also help the charity to invest for the future through vital research and education as well as continue to do things like providing free blood for veterinary charities and subsidising the cost of blood.

I aim to raise £2 for each mile I complete, helping towards the ambitious overall £10,000 target of the challenge. Any support you can give me is much appreciated.

Thank you for supporting me and Pet Blood Bank UK.
